Network Percusion Ensemble (USA) HISTORIAL DE LA BANDA The 2013 "International Festival of Bands and Percussion Ensembles" will feature the "West Percussion Group", Brian A. West conducting, and the "Network Percussion Ensemble", Stuart Spoon conducting. These two percussion ensembles are comprised of professionals, college students, and high school students from all over the United States. The Festival focuses on concert percussion ensemble music, presenting a variety of literature from classical to pop. Percussion Artistic Director Brian A. West states, "This years Festival will be very exciting and will appeal to audiences of all ages". BIOGRAFÍA DEL DIRECTOR Brian WestDr. Brian West is the Division Chair and Coordinator of Percussion at Texas Christian University (TCU).Under his direction, the TCU Percussion Ensemble was selected to perform in important percussion ensemble and marching band concerts and showcases and won several prizes. In addition to his teaching duties, Dr. West maintains an active performance schedule. In 2004 he performed at the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan. He has also performed with the Fort Worth Symphony, Dallas Wind Symphony, East Texas Symphony, Richardson Brass Ensemble, and the North East Texas Symphony. His recital performances include appearances at Louisiana State University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Texas Christian University, Northwestern State University, the University of Oklahoma, Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and the University of North Texas. Dr. West is also an active composer/arranger and has adjudicated some of the most prestigious concert events and marching competitions in the USA. Dr. West holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma, a Master of Arts degree in Music Performance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas. He is a member of the Percussion Ensemble and Marching Committees within the Percussive Arts Society, and works as a clinician/endorser for Innovative Percussion, Yamaha, Remo, and Sabian. |
