The Pescadores Music Association Band was founded in 1926, when it was made up of musicians from the former Nuevo del Mar Musical Foundation Band. It has taken part in various contests and festivals, and its prizes include First Prize in Division Two of the 1933 Wind Band Contest and First Prize in Division Three of the Valencia Contest in 1951. In 1988 they won Second Prize in the Provincial Contest, conducted by the composer Francisco Zacarés Fort, who wrote the Association's anthem and with whom the Band won the Honorable Mention in Division Two of said Contest in 1993.

From 1994 to 1998 the Band was conducted by Rafael Polanco Olmos, the founder of the Association's Youth Band which had its debut on 22 June 1995.

Eduardo Ventura Rodriguez conducted the Band from 1998 to 2005. Under his leadership they won Second Prize in the 1999 "City of Cullera" Contest.

From 2005 to 2008, the Band participated in various festivals and concerts around the Region of Valencia under the direction of José Giner Sanandres.

The Band is one of the founders of the Valencia City Music Association Coordinating Committee, and has traditionally attended important events in the Maritime District such as: the arrival to the port of Valencia of the remains of the novelist Vicente Blasco Ibáñez in 1933; the inauguration of the bust of Aguirre Matiol in 1946; the closure of the local "trenet" train service in 1990 and the opening of the Maritime Promenade in 1993. In 1998, they took part in a concert in Colliure (France) paying homage to the poet Antonio Machado.

Every year, as part of the events programmed by the Maritime Municipal Board, the Band participates in the District Band Festival as well as other events organized by Valencia City Council.

Currently the Association has more than 170 members and a School with 106 pupils, some of which attend different conservatories in the Province of Valencia, and 52 musicians.
