Agrupación Musical "Santa Cecilia" de Ador
HISTORY OF THE BAND
The Association was founded towards the end of the nineteenth century, although the exact date remains unknown. The arrival of Josep Gonzálbez heralded the beginning of the Association's golden age. The music school was revitalized and the Band began to offer many concerts and perform all over the Valencia Region. Soon, their educational activities produced a pool of musicians who would integrate perfectly with the veterans, with those who would consolidate their training in the 1980s.
In 1990, their centennial year, they began their most ambitious project: the construction of the House of Music. After great effort, in 2003 the Association inaugurated a magnificent headquarters for the Band, the Youth Band, the Choir and the Music School.
In the same year changes were made to the Executive Board and an ambitious socio-cultural project was proposed to revitalize the different sections of the Band. To this end, Ramon Garcia i Soler became the Band's Director and brought about a considerable improvement in its technical level. In April 2007 the Band took part in the XXXI Provincial Band Contest, where they won Second Prize. Days later they participated in the Fourth Almàssera National Band Contest where they won First Prize and Honorable Mention. Furthermore, the FSMCV awarded our Association the EUTERPE Music Prize 2008 for their CD, 'Moment de festa' in the category of best music recording 2007.
In 2010, they won First Prize in the Seventh Altea la Vella Festival Music Contest; a few months later they won Second Prize in the XXXIV Valencia Provincial Band Contest.
Since September 2004, Ramon Garcia i Soler has been the Director of the Ador "Santa Cecilia" Music Association Band.
