Sergi Pastor
Sergi Pastor is a conductor, professor, composer and arranger committed to the current music scene.He graduated from the Higher Conservatories of Music of Valencia and Castellón, in the specialities of Solfeggio and Theory of Music, Saxophone, and Composition and Instrumentation. At the same time, he studied Piano and Orchestra and Band Conduction.
As a composer, he has done several works for symphonic band, as well as other works for chamber music. He has received various commissions, from private and public entities, for arrangements and instrumentation for band and symphony orchestra. He has a varied discography as a composer and director, as well as different publications in specialized magazines and music publishers.
He has conducted, among others, the Symphonic Band of the Musical and Cultural Athenaeum of Albalat de la Ribera, the La Lira Symphonic Band of Carcaixent, the Santa Cecilia Symphonic Band of Cullera, the Municipal Band of Bilbao, the Municipal Band of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, and the Madrid Municipal Symphonic Band. He has been Principal Conductor of the Alginet Musical Artistic Society Band from 2004 to 2015.
Since 2014 he has been the Principal Conductor of the Symphonic Band of the Musical Association La Filarmónica Alcudiana, obtaining in 2016 the 1st Prize and Honourable Mention in the 40th Contest of Bands of the Provincial Council of Valencia, as well as the 1st Prize and Honourable Mention in the 38th Band Contest of the Valencian Community. He is awarded, personally and unanimously, the Honourable Mention of the Jury as the best conductor of the Contest.
Since 2004, he has been teaching the speciality of Fundamentals of Composition in the Body of Teachers of Music and Performing Arts of the Department of Education of the Generalitat Valenciana.
He is currently a professor and head of the Composition Department at the Mestre Vert Professional Conservatory of Music in Carcaixent.
