JOAN RIBÓ I CANUTOnce again, I have the pleasure of greeting the people who make up the Music Bands that will participate in this 134th edition of the "Ciutat de València" International Contest. These have not been easy times for anyone, not either for the Bands and Musical Societies, which have seen rehearsals and performances interrupted, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their involvement in this new edition of the International Music Band Contest "Ciutat de València". Thanks to your work on this occasion, it will be possible to develop it in all its sections, and all concerts can be held normally. This year there will be over 25 Music Bands that will participate in this great music week. It will start with the Pre-Contest concerts, from July 11 to 13, in which we will bring Band music to six different locations in the city: The Mercado de Colón, the Malilla Park, the Plaça de Eugenia Vinyes de Les Arenes, the Plaça de la Mare de Déu, the Plaça Bandes de Música of the Valencian Community and the Plaça de la Patrona de Borbotó, where the first concert of the Pre-Contest will be held. From Thursday, July 13 to Sunday, July 17, we will be able to enjoy at the Palau de Les Arts the performances that will be given by the Music Bands participating in the competition phase. The objective of these concerts will be to determine the winning bands in this International Music Band Contest 2022. We want the "Ciutat de València" awards to make a grand return and to occupy the space they deserve on the city's cultural agenda. I hope and wish that we take advantage of this great opportunity to enjoy the magic of live music, and from here I would like to take the opportunity to welcome the people who will visit the city to attend this Contest and of course to invite all Valencians to attend and enjoy the concerts.
