EVA IRENE LOPSZYC
Eva Irene Lopszyc was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is a graduate of the Conservatorio Superior de Música Manuel de Falla (CSMMF) in Piano, Composition and Orchestral Conducting.
She began studying music with her mother, the pianist Tatiana Vaistij Lopszyc, and was subsequently taught by Elsa Piaggio de Tarelli, Charles Dobler, and Ángel Lasala, and formed a piano duo with her sister, Diana.
She was taught composition by her great uncle Jacobo Ficher, and also by Alicia Terzián, Roberto García Morillo, and Augusto Rattenbach. Her orchestral conducting teachers were Alfonso Stagno, Miguel Ángel Gilardi, Adela Marshall, Mario Benzecry and Pedro Ignacio Calderón.
As composer her work encompasses numerous styles: work for soloists, chamber music, choir, orchestra, choral symphony, chamber opera, ensembles and wind band. They have been premièred by notable performers in Argentina, Uruguay, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, the Vatican, Germany, the Ukraine, Poland, Israel , Great Britain, China, and Belgium.
She has participated in contemporary music Festivals and wind band summits in Spain and Portugal, offering première performances of "Almirante Cristóbal Colón", "Brigantia de los Vientos", "Ventos de Amor - Terras de Fogo e Mar-Lembrança a Luis de Camoes".
She served as conductor to the Orquesta CSMMF, Ópera Contemporánea, and Ensamble de los Tres Tiempos. She conducted the Banda Sinfónica de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires; Banda Sinfónica de La Pampa, Orquesta Sinfónica Universidad de Tucumán, Federación Bandas de Tenerife, Orquestas Sinfónica de Paraguay, and ensembles from Brazil and Mexico. She was the Argentinian delegate at the 2nd Women Conductors’ Symposium, Montevideo, Uruguay, 2018.
Awards: ISCM WMDAYS, Poland; TRINAC, Fundación Encuentros; Selección Gaude Mater, Czsestochowa, Polonia; Contemporánea Belo Horizonte; Encuentros Latinoamericanos, Mexico; Premio "Alfonso Stagno"; and the Medalla de Oro Composición y Dirección CSMMF.
Her works have been published by Sillabe and DeSantis Publications.
She has also recorded several CDs, including one titled Música Contemporánea.
Juries: Young Composers Award ISCM, Poland; TRINAC; 132nd CIBM Valencia 2018; and the conducting positions adjudication panel of the Buenos Aires Department of Culture.
She teaches at the CSMMF and was a teaching supervisor at DGEART (2016-2018).
She was the President of the Argentinian Women Composers Forum from 2009 to 2013.
She is an MMP Peace Ambassador, a member of WASBE, Donne Women in Music and the Brontë Society. |
