Scylla won the 28th Concorso Internazionale di Composizione originale per Banda 2011 de Corciano (Italy).
Scylla is a being from Greek mythology, a beautiful nymph who was turned into a man-eating sea monster when the water she used to bathe in was poisoned, found opposite Charybdisin the Strait of Messina (Italy).
The composer has approached this Greek myth using contemporary musical languages, composition systems and graphics, with alternating timbres, different atmospheres, and contrasting sounds with different acoustic densities.
