NEOPERCUSIÓN

In the 30 years since its creation in 1994, Neopercusión has become a national point of reference for musical creation, experimentation, artistic thought and contemporary culture. Its performances—which are original, novel and unique in the music world—are demonstrations of the group’s commitment to different avant-garde expressions and proof of its endless curiosity for everything related to contemporary music through its specialty: percussion.

Conscious that “we are what we play” (as Juanjo Guillem said), Neopercusión regularly integrates into its performances resources such as new technologies, video, new theatrical formats and a wide variety of musical styles: contemporary, intuitive, performance, contemporary theatrical musical, classical, contemporary opera, ethnic, experimental electronic, fusion, cinema and live music, among others.

Neopercusión, with its highly prominent position within the most pioneering European musical panorama, offers society the resources required to experiment with and enjoy contemporary musical and cultural creation, providing an incredibly broad vision of contemporary music and art.

In the years since its creation, it has managed to make festivals and events—both those which focus on classical/contemporary music and those which center other artistic trends—view its attendance as essential, becoming a reference point in the contemporary music world for percussion and one of the groups most representative of percussion at an international level, appearing in the most prestigious national and international music festivals. Great performers of different specialties have collaborated with Neopercusión, such as the trumpet player Markus Stockhausen, the Arditti quartet, the Sigma Project, Iñaki Alberdi, Asier Polo, Raquel Andueza, Celia Alcedo, Antonio Serrano, Roy Mercure, Especulum, Jaime del Val, Xelo Giner, Pilar Fontalba, Ricardo Descalzo and other great artists.
