Joven Banda Sinfónica de la Federación de Sociedades Musicales de la Comunidad Valenciana

The Joven Banda Sinfónica (JBS) de la Federación de Sociedades Musicales de la Comunidad Valenciana (FSMCV) is an example of the unique social, educational and cultural phenomenon represented by these music associations.

Conceived as a high-performance ensemble, the JBS is made up of a selection of more than 80 musicians, aged 18 to 28, who come from all over Alicante, Castellón and Valencia. The objective of the JBS is to give its members experience of working under the direction of excellent conductors and with great wind band repertoire, as well as performing in the best auditoriums. This experience, together with that of spending time with other young musicians at meetings before concerts, encourages them to continue in the wind band of the Association they belong to and with their music studies. This experience is highly enriching for both the musicians and their music associations, whose ensembles gain musicians who have made the most of training meetings and concerts to improve their skills.

Renewed annually, the position of director of the JSB has been held, since its creation, by prestigious figures from the world of conducting, both Spaniards and conductors from overseas.

The director of the JSB de la FSMCV for the 2024 season is the conductor Enrique Montesinos Parra.
