								The Banda de Música de Getafe made its debut in Getafe in May 1984 as part of the local patron 
								saint’s festivities. 
								
								Our core activities focus on promoting and disseminating music in Getafe with a regular season of 
								concerts in the Federico García Lorca theater and different venues in the town of Getafe. Our town 
								council’s commitment to culture and the dedication of our members allows us to implement an 
								intensive musical program. 
								
								The Banda de Música de Getafe has participated in various contests and concert series:

										●	5th Ciclo de Conciertos organized by RNE in the Palau de la Música de Valencia with the recording of a CD of the event with the RTVE label in 2004

								As well as our concert performances, we develop educational projects both for our members, with training 
								courses in different subjects and specialties, and for young musicians from the conservatories and music
								schools in a wide area to the south of Madrid with the BMG+1 project.
								
								In 2019, maestro Francisco Aguado Martí, who led the Band for 25 years, was named honorary director. 
								Since September 2019, José Luis Bueno Cardeñosa has been the Band’s artistic director.

								José Luis Bueno Cardeñosa has a master’s degree in Orchestra Conducting from the Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio, 
								where he was taught by Miguel Romea and Andrés Salado. He was the musical director of the Orquesta Sinfónica Verum 
								for “Pinoxxio”, a production by Ananda Dansa which won prizes in seven categories at the MAX 2016 awards, including for 
								its music which was composed by Pep Llopis.
								
								He is the principal conductor of the Banda de Música de Getafe (BMG) and the Pantueña Orchestra project, and artistic 
								director of the wind band of the Federation of Wind Bands of the Madrid Region. From 2011 to 2019 he was the principal 
								conductor of the wind band of Morata de Tajuña (Madrid).
								
								In 2022 he was chosen for the final round of the 1st Curso Internacional de Dirección de Banda “Vila de Bétera”.
								
								As an orchestra conductor, in 2011 he began an intensive and comprehensive training program with maestro Miguel Romea
								who he believes was the key figure in his musical development.
								
								He has been trained by maestro José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana in various advanced courses and at the Escola Comarcal de 
								Música de la Vall d’Albaida which is run by Pascual. He has also trained with maestros George Pehlivanian, Cristóbal 
								Soler, Julián Lombana, Norman Milanés and Miquel Ortega.
								
								He has conducted on many different stages such as the Sala Sinfónica and Sala de Cámara of the Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, 
								the Sala Mozart of the Auditorio de Zaragoza, the Teatros del Canal in Madrid, the Teatro Romea in Murcia, the Teatro Principal, 
								the Gran Teatro Antonio Ferrandis and Auditorio de Les Arts in Valencia, and the Auditorio de Cuenca, among others. He has also 
								been invited to conduct the New York Youth Symphony and the Orquesta “Proyecto X”. He has been guest conductor to the Orquesta 
								Filarmónica de Málaga (OFM).
